The instrument typically features a scissor-action handle or a plier-grip and a specialized "jaws" mechanism. The lower jaw consists of two thin prongs that slide under the staple, while the upper jaw is a single bar that depresses the center of the staple.
Key Performance Features-
Anvil-Style Deformation: When the handles are squeezed, the upper bar pushes down on the center of the crown. This causes the "legs" of the staple to straighten out and lift vertically out of the puncture sites.
-
Ultra-Thin Lower Prongs: The prongs are tapered to slide easily under even "buried" staples or those tightened by post-operative swelling, reducing the need to probe or pull at the wound.
-
Ergonomic Scissor Grip: The handle loops are designed for high tactile feedback, allowing the clinician to feel the resistance of the staple and adjust the pressure accordingly.
-
High-Grade Stainless Steel: Forged to maintain perfect jaw alignment. If the jaws become misaligned, the staple will "twist" during removal, causing significant pain and potential wound dehiscence.
In wound care, the goal is to prevent scarring. The HSCO Skin Stapler Remover is finished with a satin, non-slip coating for a secure grip. The internal spring mechanism is calibrated to provide a smooth, consistent squeeze, preventing the "jerking" motion often associated with lower-quality or disposable plastic removers.
