HSCO Aneurysm Needle
| Point Type | Blunt |
| Shape | J-Shaped |
| Brand | HSCO |
| Size | 7.0 inch |
| Material | Stainless Steel |
| Length | 175 mm |
| Sterile Or Non Sterile | Non Sterile |
| Application Type | Aneurysm |
The Aneurysm Needle features a long, slender shank and a curved, blunt-tipped blade. The "eye" is located at the distal end, allowing the surgeon to "load" the suture and pull it through behind the vessel.
Key Performance Features-
Blunt, Atraumatic Tip: The tip is meticulously rounded and polished. This ensures that as the needle is passed behind an artery or nerve, it pushes the structure aside rather than piercing it.
-
Specialized Curvature (Left and Right): HSCO manufactures these in specific Left-Handed and Right-Handed curves. This allows the surgeon to maintain a natural wrist position regardless of which side of the vessel they are approaching.
-
Fixed Handle Design: Unlike a needle holder, the needle and handle are a single unit. This provides superior tactile feedback, allowing the surgeon to "feel" the resistance of the surrounding tissue.
-
Precision Eyelet: The eye at the tip is smoothed internally to prevent "shaving" or fraying the suture material as it is pulled through.
In vascular and neurosurgery, the integrity of the instrument's surface is paramount. The HSCO Aneurysm Needle is finished with a satin, anti-glare polish. This is critical because these procedures often involve surgical loupes or microscopes, where a high-shine finish would create blinding reflections. Each needle is forged from a single piece of surgical-grade steel to prevent the tip from snapping under the tension of dense connective tissue.
HSCO Veress Needle
| Length | 160 mm |
| Diameter | 2 mm |
| Disposable / Reusable | Reusable |
| Point Type | Sharp |
| Finishing | Matte |
| Needle Type | Veress |
| Curvature | Straight |
The Veress pattern consists of a sharp outer cannula and a spring-loaded, blunt inner stylet. The blunt stylet protrudes past the sharp tip to protect internal organs, retracting only when it encounters the resistance of the abdominal wall.
Key Performance Features-
Spring-Loaded Safety Mechanism: As the needle pushes through the skin and fascia, the blunt stylet is pushed back, exposing the sharp outer tip. Once the needle enters the empty space of the abdomen, the blunt stylet "pops" forward instantly to shield the needle's edge.
-
Visual Pressure Indicator: The proximal hub often contains a small window or a moving part that visually indicates the position of the stylet, allowing the surgeon to confirm entry through "feel" and "sight."
-
Integrated Luer-Lock & Stopcock: The handle features a universal Luer-lock connection and a high-precision stopcock (valve) to control the flow of $CO_2$ gas once the needle is positioned.
-
Dual Insufflation Side-Holes: The blunt stylet features lateral openings at the tip. These ensure that gas is dispersed sideways, preventing high-pressure "jet" streams from damaging the surface of the liver or bowel.
In laparoscopic surgery, the "blind entry" is the most high-risk phase. The HSCO Veress Needle is manufactured with a high-tension spring that is tested for thousands of cycles to ensure it never "lags" or sticks. The outer cannula is thin-walled yet rigid, allowing for a smaller puncture site that heals faster and carries a lower risk of hernia.
HSCO Salah Bone Marrow Aspiration Needle
| Procedure Type | Aspiration |
| Brand | Salah |
| Material | Chrome Plated Steel |
| Packaging Type | Individual Peel Pack |
| Size | 16 g |
| Point Type | Diamond Point |
| Needle Type | Bone Marrow |
The Salah pattern consists of a hollow cannula, a sharp-pointed stylet, and a threaded adjustable guard. This guard acts as a physical stop to prevent the needle from advancing too deep into the patient.
Key Performance Features-
Threaded Depth Guard: The guard can be screwed up or down the shaft of the needle. This allows the physician to pre-measure the depth based on the patient's subcutaneous fat and bone thickness, significantly reducing the risk of accidental injury to underlying structures (like the heart or lungs during sternal access).
-
Secure Locking Stylet: The inner stylet locks firmly into the handle to ensure it doesn't retract during the high-pressure push through the cortical bone. Once the bone is penetrated, the stylet is removed to allow for syringe attachment.
-
High-Torque T-Handle: The handle is designed to fit the palm of the hand, allowing for the steady, twisting pressure required to "drill" through the bone surface without the hand slipping.
-
Luer-Lock Hub: The proximal end of the cannula features a standard Luer-lock connection, ensuring an airtight seal with a syringe for the high-vacuum pressure needed to pull the thick marrow liquid.
In bone marrow procedures, the sharpness of the tip determines both the speed of the procedure and the patient's comfort level. The HSCO Salah Needle features a tri-beveled point that is hand-honed to a razor edge. The interior of the cannula is electropolished to a mirror finish to ensure the viscous marrow flows freely without clotting or sticking to the needle walls.
